Jessie Helsel
About Jessie
My Dance training began at the age of 4 in all styles including tap, ballet, jazz, acro, hip hop and lyrical. I began assisting and teaching ballet, tap and acro at age 16.
After graduating high school, I moved to Memphis from Johnson City, TN, to attend the University of Memphis, where I was a member of the Memphis Pom Squad from 2007-2009. During my time at the UofM, I was also a member of the Dance Department. My dance training continued in college and focused more on styles like hip hop, Pom, and modern dance. In 2012, I graduated with a Dance Education degree and became certified to teach dance in a K-12 setting in Tennessee. After graduating, I began teaching dance full time at Colonial Middle School in Memphis. Aside from teaching dance full time, I have also been teaching acro and other styles of dance around the Memphis area since 2010.
